About the Craft

Our Zari thread blends tilla with fine coloured threads, giving a softer, more dimensional sheen than plain metallic zari. Here, antique-gold zari shaded with a deeper bronze tone forms floral vines and scrolling leaf branches. The work gathers into a pendant-like panel at the neckline, wraps the cuffs and fills both ends of the dupatta. The rest of the kurta is left plain, so the gold reads clearly against the navy.

Each piece is made to order, so small variations from one piece to the next are part of the process.
