Description

There is something about the way the green deepens into brown that feels like the hour just before the lamps are lit. The silk velvet holds the light differently at every fold, darker where it gathers at the arms, luminous where it opens across the shoulders. The Aari jaal climbs across the surface in quiet abundance, florals and leaves moving without urgency, while the tilla border rests along the edges like a memory that refuses to fade.

When worn, it settles with a gentle weight that feels reassuring rather than heavy. The drape wraps fully, creating a cocoon of softened sheen and intricate thread. You notice how the velvet warms against the skin, how the embroidery catches attention without asking for it. It feels festive yet intimate, like being seen unexpectedly and not wanting to step away.

It lingers long after it is folded.

Stylist Tip

How to Style

Drape it open over a fitted black silk kurta, letting the width fall evenly from both shoulders for a full, flowing frame.
Wrap one end across the front and pin at the shoulder over a deep brown straight dress so the tilla border traces a diagonal line.
Let it fall loose over a high neck blouse and tailored trousers, allowing the velvet to soften the structure beneath.
Fold it lengthwise and wear it cape style over a long column dress so the ombre shading becomes the focal point at the back.

When to Wear

An evening dinner where you step out onto a terrace for a quiet conversation.
A festive gathering where you want warmth without losing elegance.
A cultural performance or recital held indoors under soft lighting.
A family celebration that stretches into the night.

Pair With

A black silk ankle length kurta with slim cigarette pants to let the ombre green stand forward.
A chocolate brown velvet blouse and straight skirt that echo the deeper tones at the hem.
A forest green floor length dress in matte crepe so the velvet surface remains the highlight.
A high neck ivory wool dress that allows the multi colour embroidery to appear richer against contrast.
